Saltmarsh and sanctuary zones - walking tour

Event
24 June 2023

Join our Whyalla Landscape Officer Barbara Murphy, and Marine Parks Dr Shelley Paull on a walking tour of the mangrove-saltmarsh habitat in the Sanctuary Zone at Eight-Mile Creek Beach (Whyalla).

You will leave with a better understanding of this important ecosystem that forms a vital link between our land and oceans; and is a driver of food webs that feed marine life including our amazing cuttlefish.

Attendees receive a free Samphires of the Eyre Peninsula plant identification book to use during the walk - and later on their own forays - to identify some of the fascinating salt tolerant samphire plants found growing in our local saltmarshes.

We also have free Beach Explorer guides for the kids.

Saturday, June 24, 10-11am at Whyalla Cowleds Landing Sanctuary Zone, Eight Mile Creek Beach, Mullaquana Rd, Middleback Range

Book your spot.
