Road improvements at Flinders Chase National Park
04 March 2014
Improved safety and a better driving experience are the planned outcomes of roadworks on the main roads in Flinders Chase National Park. The works have commenced and will continue to the end of March.
The corners of Cape du Couedic Road will be widened and it will be resealed to Admirals Arch with resealing also occurring on Boxer Drive to Remarkable Rocks. Car parks at Flinders Chase Visitor Centre, Admirals Arch, Remarkable Rocks and Rocky River campground will also be resealed as part of the works.
These works, together with new line marking will improve safety and provide a higher level of service and experience for visitors to the park.
Natural Resources Kangaroo Island is advising visitors and commercial tour operators of restrictions while the work takes place.
There may be temporary road closures for short periods while the works are being done. Contractors will try to reduce the delays to visitors as much as possible but it is essential to ensure the safety of both road crews and visitors.
