Changing times at the lightstations

Kangaroo Island light stations are changing opening times;

Opening hours at Cape Borda and Cape Willoughby Lightstations will change from Monday 6 July 2015.

Cape Borda provides various experiences including guided tours of the lightstation and cannon firing (with the opportunity to be an honorary Gunner) and the visitor centre has fine tea, plunger coffee, light meals and souvenirs. The sunsets are free and spectacular!

Cape Borda will be open Friday to Tuesday inclusive, with tours available from 11.00am to 2.00pm and additional tours available at other times by arrangement (phone 8553 4465). It will be closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays (except during school holidays between October to April). Self-guided walks are available at all times.

Other attractions in the Cape Borda area include the Ravine Hike, Scotts Cove Lookout, Harveys Return Hike, Return Road Hike from Harveys Return to Cape Borda and the Cliff Top Hike. These can be undertaken or visited every day. Camping is also available at Harveys Return campground.

Cape Willoughby Lightstation will be open Thursday to Monday from 11.00am to 2.00pm, with additional tours available at other times by arrangement (phone 8553 4466). It will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (except during school holidays between October to April). Self-guided walks are available at all times.

Other attractions in the Cape Willoughby area include the Heritage Walk, Zest and Thyme Café and the stunning, scenic coastal views. Camping is also available at Antechamber Bay campgrounds.
