Natural resources community forums back for 2019

News article |

The South East Natural Resources Management Board’s first round of subregional forums for 2019 begins next week, and locals are invited to continue the conversation about what’s going on in natural resources management in their area.

South East NRM Board Presiding Member Fiona Rasheed said that over the past two years, the forums have provided a platform for the community to provide feedback to the Board, and raise items for action.

“The Board has used feedback from previous forums to introduce new initiatives, update projects and form more local partnerships,” said Fiona.

“At this round of forums, we will discuss progress on 2018-2019 subregional projects and how to get involved, and get your feedback on the Board’s draft Business Plan 2019/20-2021/22.”

“We also want to hear your ideas for how we could use citizen science in our region, and provide an introduction to the Board’s new Australian Government National Landcare projects.”

Access a copy of the draft Business Plan on the Natural Resources South East website landscape.sa.gov.au/southeast.

“We encourage anyone to come along to find out what is happening in your subregion and to have your say.”

Forums will be held across the South East:

  • Mallee and Woodlands: Tues 22 Jan 2019, Tintinara Community and Recreation Centre
  • Volcanic Plains and Southern Dunes: Thurs 24 Jan 2019, City of Mt Gambier Town Hall
  • Dunes and Flats: Tues 29 Jan 2019, Robe Bowling Club
  • Ranges and Cross Border Creeks: Thurs 31 Jan 2019, Gather On Gordon Naracoorte

All forums run from 5.30pm-8pm & include a light meal. RSVP to Natural Resources South East on 8735 1177, via email to DEW.SENRMBoard@sa.gov.au, or via Eventbrite www.naturalresourcesse.eventbrite.com.
