The South East Natural Resources Management Board’s 2019 photo competition is now open, calling on local photographers to share their images of the South East’s natural treasures.

Natural Resources South East Sustainable Communities Coordinator Alison Boomsma said this year’s theme is ‘Back to Basics’.

“We want to see what is at the core of what locals love about our region,” Alison said.

“Water, soil, plants and animals are the basic elements of what makes our landscapes so special, so we’re adding an extra category this year - South East Ag Life.”

“This special category will celebrate our region’s growers, producers and locals on farm and looking after their patch of land. The general photography category will cover our regions epic landscapes, diverse wildlife, and unique native plants.”

Entries are welcome in traditional still photography and social media, with under 18 and open age groups.

“To enter on social media post your photos on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtags #nrmbacktobasics2019 and #myviewnrse, with #aglifese2019 if you are entering into the Ag category.”

“Winners will share in some great prizes, and selected photos will feature on a range of our publications, social media channels and in the Board’s 2020 calendar.”

“Ultimately we’re encouraging people to get outside and explore, and capture what is special about our spectacular region.”
