Nature Festival - Regent parrots - a day of fun and discovery
Join us and the Nature Foundation on Sunday 6 October, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, at Murbpook Nature Reserve for a day of family fun and discovery.
Take a tour around the 360 ha wetland and see these magnificent birds in their natural habitat, discover what they eat, how they nest and what we are doing to help ensure their survival.
Heather Freeman, author of the new children’s book Papaltata and Pangku – An Australian Regent Parrot Story will be attending for a personalised book reading by the lagoon. This new children’s book tells of local communities getting involved to help protect regent parrots and their habitat. There will also be nature-based activities for the whole family to enjoy.
The event is free and suitable for all ages. Murbpook is only open to the public for special events.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing, including a hat, suitable walking shoes and bring sunscreen, insect repellent, a keep cup and a water bottle.
