Cactus injection working bee

Event
04 April 2023 until 04 April 2023
Cactus injection working bee

You’re invited to register for a fully-funded cactus injection working bee for volunteers and residents of Napperby and Nelshaby.

With the discovery of the declared weed Opuntia cacti in Nelshaby Reserve, the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board is hosting a community cactus cull to help protect properties, local wildlife and native vegetation from this invasive and prickly pest plant.

The working bee covers all equipment, chemical and training to:

  • Inject roadside and registered residential cacti within Napperby and Nelshaby
  • Target the weed in Nelshaby Reserve
  • Prevent further spread into conservation parks and private properties

It will be followed by a complimentary barbecue for participants.

Where: Lawrie Park, Nelshaby

When: Tuesday, 4 April 2023, 10am-1pm

Landholders with cacti on their property can also register for cactus injection works to be completed on their property during the working bee.
