Permits and licences
The Water Allocation Plan is a legal document that sets out the rules for managing the take and use of prescribed water resources to manage the sustainable use of the resource. The water allocation plan is for the Southern Basins and Musgrave Prescribed Wells Areas of Eyre Peninsula.
Under the water allocation plan permits and licenses are required if you are applying for a new water licence, transferring an existing license to someone else, applying to access water allocations, drilling wells, installing water metres or building wells within a prescribed area etc. These permits and licenses are managed by the Department for Environment and Water, with forms available.
For questions about these processes or forms phone:
- water licence enquiries - (08) 8372 7561, option 3
- water permit enquiries - (08) 8372 7561, option 2
