🌊 North Beach Coastal Connections
Protecting coastal systems while improving access
Dune resilience works, footpath and fencing maintenance, amenity block improvements, and upgraded wayfinding signage are underway at North Beach, Wallaroo, to improve visitor access and safety and help protect sensitive coastal habitats.
A management plan is also being developed for nearby Point Riley to guide future use and support the long-term protection of the area's sensitive coastal environment. Led by the Copper Coast Council with support from the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board and North Beach Progress Association, the planning process will help identify and prioritise practical actions for coastal access, conservation and site management.

🏕️ Bamboos Campground
Supporting sustainable camping
Large-scale dune restoration and revegetation works at Bamboos Campground are helping stabilise coastal systems and restore degraded dune environments.
The Bamboos is one of 17 coastal bush-campgrounds managed by Yorke Peninsula Council. Protective fencing, revegetation, improved facilities and an online booking system are supporting a more sustainable and enjoyable camping experience while reducing pressure on fragile coastal areas. Enhancements have been led by the Yorke Peninsula Council with support from the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board.

A designated day-use area has been established at Barkers Beach (Tickera) to improve visitor amenity while addressing unauthorised camping and associated impacts.
Developed in consultation with local landholders and community members, the project supports safer beach access, improved visitor experiences and better management of the surrounding coastal environment, led by Barunga West Council and supported by the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board.
