News article |

🔥🛑 Fire Danger Season starts for the Mid North and Yorke Peninsula Fire Ban Districts this year on 1 November.

Fire Danger Season Mid North and Yorke Peninsula 2026

Following a strong growing season, fuel loads are higher than usual across many parts of the state. While this has been welcome news for farmers and regional communities, it also means an increased risk of bushfire that needs management.

As harvest gets underway across the region, the CFS is reminding landholders to plan ahead and prepare. While fire danger season introduces restrictions on some activities, landholders can and should continue work to undertake property maintenance and bushfire preparation, provided they comply with the relevant requirements.

Ensuring harvesting, burning and property preparation activities are carried out safely and under appropriate conditions will help protect your property, your neighbours and the wider community.
