Have your say on the future of Northern and Yorke

News article |

The Northern and Yorke Landscape Board is calling on community members, landholders, organisations and stakeholders from across the region to have their say and help shape the draft Northern and Yorke Regional Landscape Plan 2026–2031.

Have your say on the future of Northern and Yorke

The five‑year plan will guide how the Board supports the region’s land, water, biodiversity and communities into the future. It sets out shared priorities, long‑term objectives and key focus areas that will shape investment, partnerships and on‑ground projects over the next five years.

The plan sets out a vision for “a resilient and thriving region, where communities work together to care for land, biodiversity, water and coasts.”

It recognises the changes the region is already experiencing – from climate change and growth in renewable energy to increasing development – and aims to balance environmental, social and economic needs.

All feedback received during the consultation period will be considered before the region’s plan is finalised and adopted.

Shaped by the people who know the region best

Chair of the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board, Geoffrey White, said local voices are critical to getting the plan right.

“Our Landscape Plan is about setting a clear and shared direction for the future of Northern and Yorke,” Mr White said.

“We want to hear from the people who live, work and care for this region – because it is your knowledge, experience and ideas that will help ensure the plan is practical, relevant and truly reflects what matters locally.”

Mr White said community feedback will strengthen the plan and support land managers, community groups and researchers as they plan for the future.
