Gardening workshop in December

News article |

Well known ABC gardening presenter Sophie Thomson will be in Cowell, Cleve and Kimba in the second week of December to run a series of sustainable gardening workshops.

This follows a successful round of workshops in Tumby Bay, Port Lincoln and Coffin Bay earlier in the year, supported by the Eyre Peninsula Natural Resources Management Board.

Natural Resources Officer Kellie Crosby said it’s a unique opportunity for the community to ask questions and receive practical and easy solutions suitable for local gardens.

“Anyone with an interest in gardening will benefit,” she said.

“Sophie will discuss ways of maximising gardening results within our local rainfall and soil conditions.

“She also has clever hints and tips about how to look after good bugs.”

The Cowell workshop will be held from 6pm til 8pm on Tuesday the 9th December with supper and a chat afterwards. Cleve and Kimba workshops will run from 10.30 am until 3.30 pm on the 10th and 11th of December respectively, with lunch provided.

The morning session will explore ways of making local gardens work in our climate; and the afternoon session on will cover our top 10 garden pests and diseases. You can attend all day or just for a morning or afternoon session.

To book call Natural Resources EP at Cleve on 8628 2077. Venues are Cowell Sporting Complex, Cleve Golf Club and Kimba Golf Club.
