Join our Community Engagement Committee!
Help shape local decisions about environment across the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula!
Are you aged 18–28 and passionate about nature and the environment? Want to make a real difference in your community, meet like-minded people, and grow your skills?
We are looking for two young people to join our Community Engagement Committee. This is your chance to help shape local environmental decisions and make sure your generation is heard. The committee meets as needed in Mount Barker, usually around four times a year, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to contribute without it taking up too much of your time.
What’s in it for you?
- Have a say in big decisions like the next 5-year Landscape Plan for the Hills and Fleurieu Region.
- Work with others who care about climate change, nature and the environment.
- Build your network and gain experience you can put on your resume.
- Get paid for your time at meetings and for your contributions.
Not sure if this is for you?
No worries, we know committees can sound a bit formal. But if you’ve got ideas, care about your local environment, and want to be involved, we’d love to hear from you. You can even apply with a friend. You don’t need any special experience, just enthusiasm and a connection to our hills and fleurieu community.
How to apply
Send a one-page letter to Hf.LandscapeBoard@sa.gov.auby 7 July 2025, telling us:
- How you're connected to your local area
- Why you care about the environment and what you'd bring to the team
You can find more info about the committee here.
