Discover how natural assets can boost your farm’s profitability

Farmers and agribusiness professionals, across the Hills and Fleurieu and surrounds are invited to attend the upcoming Lay of the Land Seminar - a free, fully catered event exploring how natural assets are reshaping the future of agriculture.

Hosted by Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu, the seminar brings together leading voices from across the agricultural supply chain including industry experts, buyers, and financiers. Expert speakers will unpack the growing importance of managing natural assets at both farm and landscape scale and show how effective management correlates to successful business.

Speakers include representatives from the Australian Farm Institute, Greenham, Thomas Foods International, National Australia Bank, Rabobank, Bentleys SA, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Canopy Nature Based Solutions, and Pinion Advisory, among others.

Guiding the day’s discussions is Leigh Radford OAM, an iconic rural broadcaster and passionate environmental advocate.

“Natural assets are fast becoming the new currency of agriculture,” said Donna Bartsch, Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator at Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu.

“This seminar is about helping farmers understand what that means for their business and how to take action.”

“We’ve brought together voices from across the supply chain including industry, finance, buyers, and advisors to give farmers a clear picture of what’s coming and how to prepare. It’s a chance to connect, learn, and start planning a more sustainable and profitable future,” said Ms Bartsch.

Attendees will explore how natural assets and capital are influencing agricultural value, what sustainability credentials are needed to access premium markets, and how environmental markets and green finance can support on-farm changes. The seminar also covers buyer expectations, emissions profiles, and practical support available through Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu.

This event is free to attend, with afternoon tea and dinner provided.
