Inaugural Adapt NRM Grants Announced

The Eyre Peninsula Natural Resources Management Board is proud to announce the first round of successful Adapt NRM Grants. This initiative will provide $194,700 worth of grants to six organisations, allowing them to undertake projects that promote the sustainable management of our natural resources and progress priority adaptation options as outlined in the Regional Climate Change Adaptation Plan for the Eyre Peninsula .

300kg of rubbish collected along beaches near Whyalla

In just one year, 320 kilograms of rubbish has been collected from along the coastline near Whyalla. The rubbish was collected from Fitzgerald Bay to Munyaroo Conservation Park and included 270 glass and plastic bottles, 130 cans and 55 Kilograms of plastic.

New manager for Natural Resources Eyre Peninsula

Jonathan Clark has been appointed as Regional Manager of Natural Resources Eyre Peninsula replacing Annie Lane who left to take up a position in Canberra. Mr Clark has been acting in the role since last November and comes with broad local knowledge and experience, particularly in community engagement, natural resources management operations and water resources management.

A study into the Coffin Bay dolphin population by two Flinders University PhD students has revealed the dolphins are a new species of bottlenose dolphin known as the Burrunan dolphin (Tursiops australis).
