Defining the campsite and visitor areas at Scott’s Bay, within Fowlers Bay Conservation Park, are just some of the proposed works being undertaken by Natural Resources Eyre Peninsula (NREP) and the Ceduna Aboriginal Corporation (CAC), in close consultation with the Fowler’s Bay community.
Buffel Grass is an unwelcome invader which is causing havoc to natural ecosystems and infrastructure. Natural Resources Eyre Peninsula is seeking the community’s help to rid the district of this plant pest.
A Fire Management Plan has been adopted for the Central Eyre Peninsula region to address risks to life, property and the environment. The plan covers 23 reserves, including more than 210 000 hectares of Environment Department reserves as well as some Crown Land and some land covered by Heritage Agreements.
Starting this month, eligible land managers can collect free fox baits and discuss their property baiting programs with Natural Resources Officers at a number of convenient locations across Western Eyre Peninsula. Natural Resources Officer Andrew Sleep says that it’s important for land managers to work strategically with neighbours to conduct fox baiting at the same time.
You can now view more than 500 local native and introduced plant samples, delicately pressed and scientifically verified by the State Herbarium of South Australia, in two large Herbaria at the Natural Resources Eyre Peninsula Centre in Port Lincoln.
