Coles Point

Coles Point

Recording dynamic sand movement throughout the year, extreme weather events and the impacts of a changing climate on the beach.

This beach is home to shorebird species such as the Pied Oystercatcher and the threatened Hooded Plover. Resident shorebirds nest in a shallow scrape on the upper beach between August and March each year.

This beach is subject to extensive erosion, which is a threat to the available nesting habitat. This Pix Stix will help us record the dynamic sand movement throughout the year, extreme weather events and the changing climate.
