Free workshop to help KI farmers plan for success
Kangaroo Island farmers participating in the Property Management Planning (PMP) Program will have the opportunity to take part in a full-day workshop designed to help them set a clear vision and practical goals for their farm business.
The workshop, held on Tuesday 16 December, will guide participants through defining what they want to achieve on their property and how to prioritise the actions that will help them get there.
PMP Extension Officer Cassandra Douglas-Hill said the session is aimed at helping farmers work smarter, not harder.
“Farmers are juggling so many competing demands. This workshop is about stepping back, clarifying what really matters, and building a plan that keeps everything on track,” she said.
“Participants will walk away with a clearer sense of purpose and practical tools they can apply straight away.”
A key feature of the workshop is access to a one-on-one session with facilitator Beck Burgess, giving each participant tailored support to apply what they’ve learned to their own business.
Beck runs a grape growing business and microbrewery in Langhorne Creek. Her passion lies with Australian agriculture and helping farmers meet their goals through extension and facilitation.
“Beck takes pride in connecting farmers to the latest research and development for the sustainability of farming businesses, along with creating Ag events that encourage farmers to question more and aid in practice change,” Ms Douglas-Hill said.
“The workshop is a foundational component of the 18-month Property Management Planning Program, a free service which supports Kangaroo Island landholders to strengthen the productivity, sustainability, and resilience of their properties.
This session is open exclusively to people who have signed up for the PMP program, with limited places still available.
The Kangaroo Island Landscape Board encourages farmers to sign up for the program and people who have already signed up to RSVP for this workshop by Friday 11 December.
