The Kangaroo Island Landscape Board is working with landowners and contractors to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019(the Act), the Kangaroo Island Water Affecting Activity (WAA) Control policy and the Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.
Before work commences on installing a dam or modifying a watercourse, you may need to apply for a ‘WAA permit’ from the Kangaroo Island Landscape Board or ‘Development Approval’ from the Kangaroo Island Council depending on the scale of work.
Please contact the KI Landscape Boards Water Officer on 08 8553 2476 or ki.landscapeboard@sa.gov.au if you are uncertain whether you need a WAA Permit.
