KI Native Plant Nursery update: Time to order plants for 2026
The Kangaroo Island Landscape Board's Native Plant Nursery is taking orders for the 2026 winter planting season and will close sales to the public 28 August 202
The nursery has more than 100 species of Kangaroo Island native plants, suitable for revegetation, windbreaks, shelterbelts, coastal plantings, and home gardens.
KI Native Plant Nursery Manager Jo McPhee said the nursery is taking orders for the 2026 season until Friday, 3 October 2025.
"There are so many beautiful local native plants at the nursery that will thrive in your garden much better than plants that are not native to Kangaroo Island," Ms McPhee said.
With her vast knowledge, she's ready to help landholders choose the perfect plants for their space, as well as offer tips on where and how to plant them based on the special conditions of each property.
Nursery staff are also more than happy to arrange site visits for larger orders to help select the right species of plants for their site requirements.
If you have ordered plants for the 2025 planting season, please pick them up from the nursery before 28 August 2025.
In the meantime, with only a few weeks to go until the KI Native Plant Nursery closes for public sales this season, there is still a good variety of native plants available, including the following:
