Long Beach

The Long Beach saltmarsh zone provides important habitat and feeding grounds for many intertidal zone animals as well as internationally important migratory and resident shorebird species.

This section of beach is restricted from vehicle access by signage only and has endured extensive vehicle damage in recent history. Vehicle damage threatens fragile samphire ecosystems.

At this Pix Stix we are monitoring vegetation health and recovery after revegetation now that it is closed to vehicles, as well as the impacts of a warming climate and coastal squeeze from sea level rise.
