Sheoak Grassy Woodland

Sheoak Grassy Woodland

Monitoring change after revegetation, as we watch this habitat return to what it once was.

At this Pix Stix we are monitoring a sheoak grassy woodlands site that has been revegetated by the Friends of Southern Eyre Peninsula Parks volunteer group.

Sheoak grassy woodlands provide important habitats for a number of bird and mammal species.

These woodlands were once widespread across Eyre Peninsula. However, clearing for agriculture, grazing by overabundant species and fire has caused many of these woodlands to disappear.

The Friends of Southern Eyre Peninsula Parks volunteer group have recently revegetated this site.

This pix Stix will be used to monitor the change over time as we watch this habitat return to what it once was.

Look out for a Pix Stix icon when on location to submit your photos.
