Pildappa Rock 1 & 2

At these Pix Stix sites we are monitoring the effect of revegetation and site access management.

Pildappa Rock is an ecologically complex granite reserve which, due to its proximity to the Gawler Ranges, provides an important corridor for many native animals and plants. Granite outcrops offer a valuable niche for ancient lineages of microorganisms and can be important water sources for Indigenous Communities.

The Wudinna District Council has undertaken a master refurbishment project at this site, including construction of new driving and walking trails, and extensive revegetation.

Please help document changes in the environment following the revegetation. This is one way you can be part of the process to support change and nurture this habitat, as it moves from one that was used for sheep grazing, to one that will support a variety of native plant and animal species.
