The Kangaroo Island Landscape Board (KILB) is thanking community members who have already contributed their ideas and feedback to help shape the region’s new Five-Year Landscape Plan (2026–2031).
The Plan will set the direction for how we care for land, water, biodiversity and sustainable livelihoods on Kangaroo Island, ensuring the Board’s work continues to reflect the values and aspirations of local people.
KILB Chair Andrew Heinrich said the community’s involvement is vital in developing a strong and practical Plan.
“We’re very grateful to everyone who attended workshops or completed the online survey in September,” Mr Heinrich said.
“Your ideas are helping us understand what matters most to Kangaroo Island’s communities.”
The feedback collected so far has been reviewed, and the Board is now inviting residents to come and check that we’ve captured your priorities before finalising the draft Plan for public consultation.
Where you can meet us:
📍 Kingscote Show – Saturday 1 November 2025, Kingscote Oval
📍 Parndana Show – Saturday 15 November 2025, Parndana Pavilion & Oval
“These drop-in opportunities are the perfect time to make sure your voice has been heard,” Mr Heinrich said.
“Your feedback will play a crucial role in shaping our priorities and plans for the next five years.”
Following these sessions, the draft Plan will be refined and released for a six-week public consultation period from 1 February to 15 March 2026 via the YourSAy website, allowing the wider community to review and provide feedback.
The final Plan will then be presented to the Minister for Environment for adoption later in 2026.
