Foliar fertiliser workshop resources
Kangaroo Island farmers and landholders can now access video recordings and practical resources from the Unlocking the Power of Foliar Fertilisers workshop.
The workshop focused on how foliar fertilisers can be used as a targeted tool to support pasture and crop nutrition, improve nutrient-use efficiency and help farmers make more cost-effective fertiliser decisions.
Workshop presenter Jenny Stanton, Agronomy Specialist with Australian Soil Planners, introduced the principles of foliar fertilisers for pasture systems, including nutrient uptake, trace element use and practical mixing steps. The videos provide practical information for farmers interested in improving plant nutrition, supporting livestock health and getting more value from fertiliser inputs.

Tom Robinson – Cropping and Livestock Specialist, Hoyleton
Tom Robinson brings practical, on-farm experience across both cropping and livestock systems. His work focuses on simple, effective strategies that help farmers improve productivity while supporting more sustainable land management.
At the foliar fertiliser workshop, Tom guided participants through the preparation and application of foliar fertilisers, sharing practical tips and real-farm examples. His session highlighted how foliar sprays can be used across a range of crop types as a targeted tool to support plant nutrition, improve nutrient-use efficiency and get better value from fertiliser inputs.
Foliar Fertilisers in Cropping Systems: Practical Farm Applications with Tom Robinson
This Q&A session brings together key questions from the Foliar Fertiliser Workshop, with practical discussion on spraying techniques, application timing, coverage, mixing issues and common challenges.
The video is designed to help farmers and landholders think through how foliar fertilisers could fit into their own pasture or cropping systems, and how to get the best results from targeted nutrient applications.
It is a useful follow-up for anyone wanting to better understand the practical steps, decision-making and on-farm considerations involved in using foliar fertilisers effectively.
