Then you should check out these upcoming one day Pastoral Profit workshops taking place in late February and early March.

Both workshops will help improve your understanding of financial matters and assist you in making sound business decisions.

Financial Foundations for Pastoral Success with Paul Erkelenz will be held at Port Augusta (22 February), Coober Pedy (24 February) and Marree (26 February).

This workshop will focus on:• The Destination – How financial management affects where you want to go with your station• The Map – Using an economic planning process to help you make better management decisions• The Signs and Symbols – Understanding financial terminology important to your business• The Big Gauges – Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets – how to read them, what do they mean, doing your own calculations and using them to make business decisions.

Financial Literacy for Pastoral Businesses with Linda Eldredge will be held at Blinman (1 March), Cradock Hotel (2 March) and Yunta (3 March).

This workshop will focus on:• Reading and understanding tax returns – what can you learn from your profit & loss and balance sheet; tax compliance accounts vs. management accounts; calculate key business ratios• Understanding lending margins and influencing your financier, with guest presentation from a leading SA agribusiness lender• Record keeping strategies

Cost for the workshops is $66 per business, plus $22 per subsequent business member.
