WAP feedback being collated

Posted 11 June 2020.

All comments and submissions received during the five months of consultation on the draft Water Allocation Plan (WAP) for the Far North Prescribed Wells Area are being collated in a consultation report.

The formal consultation period for the draft WAP opened on 12 November 2019 and closed on 17 April 2020.

The Landscape SA Arid Lands Board is now considering all feedback received during the consultation phase through the development of the consultation report. It will include what was heard at the consultation meetings and also the comments received through written submissions to the draft Plan. It also includes a summary of the changes made to the draft Plan.

When the plan has been finalised by the Board and the Department for Environment and Water, it will be submitted to the Minister for adoption. This is expected to happen later this year.

Once adopted, new unbundled water licences will begin to be issued to existing licensees and the implementation of the Plan will commence.
