Family fun on offer across the region

Five Family Fun Days are planned for the Gawler Ranges, North Flinders, North East Pastoral, Marree Innamincka and Marla Oodnadatta districts, with the first to be held today.

An evening at Mt Little will feature an ‘Are you Bogged Mate?’ presentation, with children to be entertained by Bugs ‘n’ Slugs. In an evening of fun for everyone, the pizza oven will be fired up cooking wood-fired pizzas for attendees. This event starts at 3pm today and more information is available here.

Residents of the Marree-Innamincka district will travel a little for the Kayak and Fishing Day at Aroona Dam on 27 September, which includes a fishing competition and an evening of entertainment.

Kayaks and lunch will be provided at Aroona Dam and families are invited to join a dinner at Leigh Creek Outback Resort at the end of the day, where activities will be offered. Bookings are essential. More information is available here.

In the North East Pastoral district a family social will be held at Mannahill in October. The day will offer activities for families including Animals anonymous, Virtual Reality Headsets, live music and a barbecue dinner.

Events will also be held later in the year in the Gawler Ranges and Marla Oodnadatta districts.

The Family Fun Days are delivered by SAAL Landscape Board and are supported by the FRRR, through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.
