From the Ground Up wins funding

News article |

A new program that will set up demonstration sites and trials across the SA Arid Lands to help manage and improve ground cover and pasture conditions has received funding from the Australian Government's Future Drought Fund.

Properties across the region will host a range of demonstration sites and trials which will be established as part of a new program aimed at managing and improving ground cover and pasture condition.

From the Ground Up will begin this month following the receipt of a $560,000 grant from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.

With similar objectives to the Building Pastoral Sustainability (BPS) Project, From the Ground Up will build on the success of BPS

The focus of the new project will be to:

  • Deliver education and share knowledge about Rangelands ecology and grazing management
  • Trial methods and technology, including but not limited to CERES tags, remote sensing, stock management, soil moisture probes and pasture growth modelling
  • Measure impacts of grazing management methods

From the Ground Up is supported by the SA Arid Lands Landscape Board and the Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.
