Ladies, are you ready?

Women in the SA Arid Lands region who have felt the effects of drought are invited to an event designed to strengthen their social resilience and build their capacity.

Ladies, are you ready?

The Outback Ladies Muster will be held in Hawker on 14-15 October. It will offer a mix of personal and professional development sessions, speakers, creative workshops and networking activities, specifically designed for women.

Tickets for the event are limited. Book your tickets here and read on to find out who will be presenting.

The keynote speaker is Mia Handshin, a qualified lawyer, newspaper columnist, Federal political candidate and the youngest woman to chair the SA Environment Protection Authority. It took a mid-twenties burnout for Mia to realise she needed to use her energy more wisely to make a sustainable difference. Mia will share the wisdom she gained from the powerful life lessons that followed to help her stop the ‘super hero act’. She will show you how to question what is depleting, diminishing or dimming your light to avoid overdoing and self-doubt.

Mia will be joined by presenters Emily Riggs, Heidi Wright, Bridget Johns and the founders of the 5431 Collective.

Emily Riggs, the founder of Iris and Wool first found fashion at nine years old, learning later that fashion afforded her an outlet for creative freedom. After marrying a fifth generation Merino sheep farmer, she merged her love of fashion with Merino Wood and will share the journey of Iris and Wool, a Farm to Fashion story.

Heidi Wright is the director Wright social, a team of experts specialising in social media marketing. She will share some key tips to creating content that captivates and converts to build your business and brand in 2024.

The founder of Be Simply Free, Bridget Johns’ will teach you how to go from being time poor to time rich by decluttering your home, phone, calendar and mind so you can have more space in your home and time in your calendar to collect moments, not things.

The concept for the 5431 Collective was dreamed up in 2022, in the midst of a heartbreaking drought. It is a not-for-profit community enterprise designed to connect, collaborate and create a community space for locals and visitors to enjoy and learn the story behind the products and their creators. Hear their story of community spirit.

The program will provide more information about the sessions and workshops.

Tickets for this event are heavily subsidised with support from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) and funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund, BHP and Heathgate Resources. The ticket price is inclusive of all meals, speakers, workshop materials and transport during the event.

It will be a fun and impactful event that will leave you feeling included, fulfilled, inspired, and capable.
