Pastoral Board to trial a new online return
The SA Pastoral Board will trial a new online stock return system with interested leaseholders as part of the annual livestock return process this year.
While lessees could return last year’s form online, many had problems with the system. This year, leaseholders can choose to use an updated online platform that is more reliable and efficient and will streamline witnessing, which should make the process simpler for landholders. All lessees will also receive a traditional hard copy stock return form.
Leaseholders wanting to trial the new online stock return system should contact the Pastoral Unit on 8429 0333.
Return of the form is a requirement under the Pastoral Land Management and Conservation Act 1989. Failure to submit by the 31 July due date without a reasonable excuse, may place you in breach of your lease conditions.
The form is considered complete when:
- it is signed by the lessee (or authorised nominated representative) in the presence of an authorised witness
- the authorised witness duly countersigns the stock return; and
- the signed and witnessed stock return is received by the Pastoral Unit by email or mail by 31 July 2026.
If you are unable to meet the deadline, please contact the Pastoral Unit to discuss your situation.
