Plant ID and seed collection workshop - Clare

Want to learn more about native plant ID?

Want to grow local provenance seedlings?

Want to build skills and confidence to contribute to local revegetation and biodiversity projects?

This FREE workshop aims to increase participants’ knowledge and confidence in identifying native plant species and undertaking ethical, safe, and effective seed collection.

Participants will:

• Develop skills in native plant identification

• Understand timing and techniques for seed collection

• Learn about seed handling, cleaning and storage

• Gain awareness of cultural considerations and ecological sustainability

The session will combine theory, discussion, and hands-on field-based learning.

Suitable for ages 12 and above. Lunch provided.

Safety:

Activity will involve some walking on uneven ground and slight slopes

Please wear appropriate protective clothing for the outdoor component: Hat/Jumper/Rain jacket (as appropriate), enclosed footwear, long pants, long sleeves.

This workshop is being run by Trees for Life and funded by the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board. The Northern and Yorke Landscape Board supports environmentally focused volunteers, community groups and Landcare groups with training to support on-ground conservation efforts.
