On-Farm Carbon Storage Grant

The On-Farm Carbon Storage grant supports primary producers who have participated in the Carbon Ready Ag conference, and/or carbon farming workshops delivered the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board. The grant is designed to support primary producers to undertake projects to store more carbon in vegetation or soils.

This grant round opened on 27 August 2025 and closes on 30 September 2025. Please note funding is available on a first come first served basis. This page will be updated once funding is exhausted.

What is available?

Revegetation packsImproved grazing management grants
Packs of approx. 200 native plants, stakes and tree guards suitable to revegetate 0.5 hectares.Fencing and/or water infrastructure to enable stock to be rotated through an increased number of paddocks to improve pastures.
Valued at $1000$5 per hectare improved up to a maximum of $5000
One pack is available per business on a first come first served basis up to a maximum of 100 packs. We anticipate this will enable all eligible primary producers to receive a pack. Landholders must cover all other costs to establish the plants.Grants are available on a first come first served basis.

Who is eligible?

Primary producers that own or manage a primary production enterprise that:

  • Have attended a NYLB carbon farming workshop in 2024 or 2025 or the Carbon Ready Ag conference in August 2025;
  • Is predominantly located within the NYLB region; and
  • Receives the majority (>50%) of income from primary production under normal seasonal conditions.
  • Has not received State and/or Commonwealth funding for the works previously.

What is ineligible?

The full list of ineligible activities can be found in the Application Guidelines. They include:

  • Labour (in-kind), vehicles and travel costs.

  • Utilities and operating costs of the business.

  • Retrospective reimbursements.

  • Purchasing new or repairing machinery.

  • Repairing existing infrastructure.

How do I apply?

Recipient requirements:

If successful, applicants will be required to complete the following documents:

  • An acquittal form
  • Grant recipient details and Acknowledgement and acceptance of offer form

This project is supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program and delivered by the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board, a member of the Commonwealth Regional Delivery Partners panel.
