Acknowledging Traditional Owners
The Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board acknowledges and respects the traditional custodians of the Murraylands and Riverland region, and we also pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
We acknowledge and respect the deep spiritual attachment and the relationship that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have to country.
We also pay respects to the cultural authority of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people visiting the Murraylands and Riverland region from other areas of South Australia or Australia.
Aboriginal Partnerships Program
The Aboriginal Partnerships Program works with people and groups across the region to increase First Nations participation in landscape management, to protect cultural values, and to strengthen the cultural competency of the landscape board, and its staff and partners.
For more information, go to the Aboriginal Partnerships Program page.
Statement of Commitment
In 2021, the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board formally endorsed a Statement of Commitment as a first step to improvement engagement with First Nations grounds and individuals across the region. Find out more on our Statement of Commitment page.
