Support for land managers
The Murraylands and Riverland region is a landscape dominated by an impressively diverse range of agricultural systems - from irrigated horticulture and viticulture through to cutting-edge dry land cropping and grazing systems.
With 70% of the region being privately owned, land managers play a pivotal role in managing the region’s natural resources.
Within the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board, the Land and Water Management team is responsible for providing services to the region’s land managers in order to develop sustainability and agricultural productivity.
Support is provided through resources available on our website, fact sheets, e-newsletters, events and the provision of specialist technical advice. We also support farming systems organisations, agricultural and industry groups by assisting them to host projects, trials and events through our grants and funding programs.
Our monthly e-newsletter Soil Matters keeps the region’s land managers up to date with the latest news.
Landholders affected by the 2023 Murray River floods should consult PIRSA and DEW websites for relevant information.
Our support services include:
- our live weatherstation network
- events – find out what workshops and field days are coming up in your area
- Soil Matters – get the latest information straight into your inbox, and
- grants and funding opportunities for agricultural groups
