Soils resources

Soils in the Murraylands and Riverland landscape management region are as diverse as the communities they support. From shallow brown loams hosting livestock through to deep white sands producing grains, our soils, our industries and our communities are interconnected.

Although diverse in range, our soils are often very fragile and require individualised management with consideration of the broader landscape, the climate and the soil structure.

The Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board works with land managers and community groups to support the continued improvement of soil health and the prevention of soil erosion.

Through the regeneration of our soils we will see the enrichment of our communities and the increased resilience of our region.
