Drought total grazing pressure project – feral rabbit control

Free control options are now available to farmers in the Murraylands and Riverland region help take action.

Funded by the South Australian Government’s $73 million Drought Support Package, this program is led by PIRSA and offers free rabbit control to farmers in drought-affected areas.

Feral rabbits compete with livestock for food and cause serious damage to soil, crops and native vegetation – especially during dry times.

Through the Drought Total Grazing Pressure project, farmers in the Murraylands and Riverland can access:

  • Free warren ripping
  • Free 1080 oat bait– to approved farmers and as seasonal conditions permit

This is a joint effort between PIRSA and the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board.
