Have your say on the draft landscape plan
The draft Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Plan 2021-2026 is now open for community consultation.
Posted 15 March 2021.
Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board Chair Dianne Davidson AM encourages everyone to have their say on the new directions for landscape management in the region.
“The consultation on the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Plan provides a great opportunity for our community to help shape the region’s future,” she said.
“We are keen to work in partnership with our regional communities to deliver a healthy and resilient landscape and this landscape plan will help us do this.”
After discussions with key stakeholders across the region, the landscape board has developed a draft five year landscape plan that outlines how the landscape board will deliver practical, on-ground action for managing regional landscapes with stakeholders and communities.
The Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Plan 2021-2026 will focus on:
- sustainable agricultural and pastoral landscapes
- sustainable water use
- healthy rivers, lakes and wetlands
- healthy landscapes
- people at the heart of landscape management.
Ms Davidson said we are seeking the best outcomes for the landscapes of the Murraylands and Riverland through collaboration and sustainable management of the natural resources with a range of partners.
“The landscape board has listened to the feedback received during the landscape reform process to develop the Landscape South Australia Act 2019,” she said.
“We have drawn on recent conversations which focussed on forming a clear and concise plan to deliver on-ground action through partnerships.”
