Discounted bait available to help control foxes in the Murraylands area
Landholders across the Murraylands region will have access to discounted baits as part of the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board’s annual coordinated fox baiting program.
A coordinated approach to baiting with neighbouring properties is the best way to significantly reduce fox numbers, and the landscape board’s annual baiting program supports landholders to do this.
“Managing the impact of foxes on the local landscape is most successful when neighbouring properties work together to lay baits at the same time thereby increasing the likelihood of a fox coming across a bait” said Bec Gould, Murraylands District Manager.
“In the lead up to lambing, working together will help to minimise fox impacts on agricultural productivity and harm to the environment” said Ms Gould.
Landholders are invited to order fox bait by registering online or completing an order form which can be emailed or posted back to the landscape board, or by phoning 8532 9100. Those unable to make a designated collection day can contact their local district officer to make alternative arrangements.
Pre-ordered fox baits will be provided at a discounted rate for collection at the nominated distribution points listed below.
For more information about the distribution days, or to register your fox bait order, go to 2024 fox bait distribution days page on our website.
This project is supported by the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board through funding from the landscape levies.
