Grassroots investment for region
Applications are now open for the 2022-23 Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board’s Grassroots Grants program.
The Grassroots Grants program supports community based organisations, volunteer groups and individuals who work at a local level on a not-for-profit basis to help in the management of the region’s landscape and natural assets.
Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board Chair Dianne Davidson AM said she encouraged community groups and individuals to apply to the grant program.
“Grassroots Grants are an important way the landscape board supports the local community to improve the management of the region’s landscape and its natural assets,” she said.
Guidelines and links to application forms are available on the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board website at landscape.sa.gov.au/mr.
Applications are submitted online using SmartyGrants.
The closing date for applications is 5:00 pm ACDT on Monday 28 March 2022.
In 2022, more than $340,000 is available to support grassroots projects that align with the landscape board’s priorities of sustainable agriculture, sustainable water use, river and wetland biodiversity, terrestrial biodiversity and people.
Projects can involve the community in landscape management or undertaking on-ground works such as revegetation, fencing, controlling pest plants and animals, and soil management.
Grassroots Grants are funded through levies collected by the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board.
