Landholders opportunity to outwit wily fox
Fox bait distributions days will be on again during February and March 2022.
To assist landholders manage the detrimental effects of foxes, the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board is offering a group baiting program across the Murraylands district.
Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board Senior District Officer Steve Baltussen said managing the impact of foxes on the local landscape is most successful when neighbouring properties are baited in a coordinated program.
“Foxes are significant pests that can have a large impact on agriculture and the environment through predation, damage to infrastructure, spreading weed seeds and providing a host for some animal diseases,” he said.
“Landholders are encouraged to participate in the upcoming program to maximise the positive benefits of a coordinated group approach and achieve a significant reduction in fox numbers in the lead up to lambing,“ Mr Baltussen said.
Pre-ordered fox baits will be provided at a discounted rate for collection at the nominated distribution points listed below.
Information packs are being mailed to landholders including order forms which need to be returned to the landscape board. If you wish to receive a pack please phone your local District Officer.
