Recently Frances Simes, member of the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board, met with students from Ramco Primary School to learn more about their participation
in the landscape board’s Young Environmental Leaders (YEL) program and present them with a sign that indicates that they are a recipient of a Grassroots Grant.

The Ramco Environmental Group meet fortnightly at school and attend quarterly YEL forums, hosted by the landscape board’s Education team, sharing what they learn with other students at the school.

The Grassroots Grant has helped the school to cover the cost of transporting their students to the YEL forums as well as offsetting some of the costs of having a teacher attend these events.

The Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board’s Grassroots Grants is an annual program, open to community groups, individuals and not-for-profit organisations, and applications for the 2025 grants program will open on 17 February and close on 30 March 2025.

Visit the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board website for more information about Grassroots Grants.

The Grassroots Grants program is supported by the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board through funding from the landscape levies.
