Community leaders encouraged to join the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board

Appointed by the Minister for Climate, Environment and Water, landscape boards reflect the diverse communities they serve and the varied landscapes they manage. Applications are particularly encouraged from women, First Nations people, young adults and people from culturally diverse backgrounds, to ensure a broad range of perspectives are represented on the board.

Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board Chair Frances Simes said becoming a board member was a rewarding opportunity to make meaningful contribution to the health of our region.

“The Murraylands and Riverland is a unique and diverse region, and the strength of our landscape board comes from having members who understand the opportunities and challenges facing our communities,” Frances said.

“We’re looking for people who are passionate about our region and want to contribute their skills, experience and local knowledge to help guide decisions that benefit our landscapes, industries and communities.”

“Whether your background is in natural resources management, agriculture, business, community leadership or another field, we encourage people with strategic leadership, governance experience and a commitment to the future to our region to apply.”

Nominations for board member positions are now open and nominees, including current members, are invited to complete an online application form before 5pm on Sunday, 16 August 2026. Successful nominees are appointed for up to four years, starting 31 January 2027.
