Shared vision for the region’s future landscapes set out in five-year plan
The Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board has released its 2026-2031 Regional Landscape Plan, setting the direction for landscape management across the region.
The regional landscape plan provides a framework for how the landscape board will work with the community, landholders, First Nations groups, industry and partners to support sustainable agriculture, manage and improve land, catchment, wetland and biodiversity outcomes, while managing pest plants and animals.
General Manager Bryan McDonald said the regional landscape plan provides a broad and practical roadmap for action over the next 5 years.
“The regional landscape plan sets out a focused and achievable direction for how we will work with our community and partners to achieve positive outcomes for our landscapes,” Bryan said.
“It ensures our efforts are targeted where they will have the greatest impact, supported by science, evidence and local knowledge.”
Chair Frances Simes said the regional landscape plan reflects strong community involvement and a shared commitment to the region’s future.
“The plan has been shaped by the valuable input and feedback we have received from our partners and the community, and I want to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to contribute,” Ms Simes said.
“Your ideas, knowledge and perspectives have helped ensure the regional landscape plan reflects local priorities and supports the long-term health of our landscapes and communities.”
